Premium gasoline has been flowing through 50 kilometers of the river channel of “Arroyo Hondo”, reaching this Tuesday the city of Tres Valles, where the concern keeps increasing, because this pollution could potentially reach the “Maria Lizamba” lagoon, home of countless aquatic and land species, adding that the water from this lagoon is used rancher sector of Papaloapan.

On this Tuesday morning, citizens of “Los Naranjos” found countless dead animal bodies inside and outside of the river channel, such as eels, turtles, fish, armadillos, and even domestic animals such as dogs that drank water from it.

This polluted water is close to the “Maria Lizamba” lagoon, home of crocodiles, alligators, manatees, and other aquatic and land species, making this situation a potential disaster. This contamination represents a hard hit to the ranchers and fishers’ families from cities like Tierra Blanca, Tres Valles and Papaloapan.

Until know, personnel from PEMEX (Mexican Petroleum Company) have done less or none to keep this polluted water from advancing in order to stop the deaths of many animal species.

This Tuesday, civil servants from the three levels of government met to implement a plan to avoid more animals deaths, but until now, the topics that were discussed are still unknown.

Citizens of Tierra Blanca asked their major, Saul Lara Gonzalez, to demand a punishment for the PEMEX directors, as they acted with negligence, and not acting fast enough to avoid this disaster that has caused the death of thousands of aquatic and land species.
